Sumerge has started developing a self-service portal solution for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), an independent agency of the Ministry of Labor in Ontario, Canada. The project offers automation of workers claims processes and applies for both permanent and temporary injuries. The self-service portal will allow all workers to file injury claims without the need to visit the branch which will definitely reduce the paper processing time. The solution integrates with the rest of the process and will be built using JSR 268 Portlets, Java, JEE, Amazon Web Services (AWS), XML, SOAP, IBM Websphere Message Broker, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS and MQ technologies.

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board is an independent trust agency that administers compensation and no-fault insurance for Ontario workplaces. The WSIB are committed to delivering what matters to the workers and employers of Ontario: fast, accessible service and fair benefits at a fair price.
